Our History
As one of the oldest screen and door suppliers on the Mornington Peninsula, Phoenix is renowned for elegant, helpful solutions other contractors avoid.
Owner and founder Peter Burghard has a long residential trade career, starting as a plumber and home builder in 1969.
Responding to demand for security and insect screen doors that were both practical and stylish, he opened Phoenix Screens and Doors in Seaford in 1988. His determination to provide tasteful, high quality and well-manufactured products have seen the business grow from a one-person show to its current staff of 28.
Still operating in Seaford, many of Phoenix’s employees have more than ten years of service.
His son, Peter Burghard Jr, now works alongside his father, developing the business and building Phoenix’s reputation for first-class customer service in homes, commercial sites and multi-storey projects.
